Setting up DL11-W (M7856) for TU58

Hi - I am returning again to my PDP 11/40 project...I could have sworn I had found a web page that specified how to set up a M7856 for use as a TU58 emulator's serial card. I want to try to load XXDP this way. I have a working M7856 already set to 9600/n/1 and a 7800 that is also set to be a 9600b console. From the console I can access the computer via M9312 ROM, and from there activate the DD (TU58 ) bootstrap ROM.

Can anyone kindly tell me what change I need to make to my M7856? I have a copy of the DEC manual for the DL11-W but honestly I can't tell for sure how to change the address from 777560 to 776500 which I believe is what I need it to be for the TU56 serial comms. I have a Win 2000 pc that I plan to run tu58em.

Is this what other people do, use two PCs running two cables to each serial card on the pdp 11 (one emulates the TU58, the other connects to the console via teraterm or whatever?)

I have read past threads but they jump all over the place, I'd like to document and condense the process so I have it in one place for future reference.

Thanks

Bill
