Hey guys, I had posted about it before, a computer that I disassembled and gave to my daughter to put together (which she did)... it's a Compaq DeskPro XL 566 Desktop.
Everything works great... but I'm curious about something. The computer does not... I repeat, does NOT have a built in PC speaker. There's not even a connector for a PC speaker. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Now, it's a Pentium 66, a very early one, and it was one of Compaq's top of the line. As a matter of fact, the CD drive is an 8x speed, and both the hard drive and the CD drive are SCSI.
Anyway... it has something called "Enhanced Business Audio." I have no idea what this is. In the back of the computer, there is a line in for a microphone, and a line out for a speaker. That's it though, there's nothing anywhere in any of the manuals that I can see that tell me how to use it, whether there are any drivers, nothing. It seems that it was short lived as I only see a few mentions of it.
Anyone have any idea if this is something I might be able to use in DOS? Do they even have DOS drivers for it?
Thanks!
