Hey Guys,
I have an Epson RX 80 with a Practical Peripherals Microbuffer MBS (8K) RS 232C interface installed (DB 25 connector). Of course, the CoCo only uses 4 pins for serial i/o, but I am confused about the pinout mapping. I am attaching photos of the serial card installed in the RX80, the CoCo pin outs from the RS Manual and the instructions for the PP Microbuffer specific to the CoCo.
It appears the Microbuffer (MB) directions are at odds with the RS pin outs. The MB manual states Pin 1 is Rx Data and Pin 2 Carrier Detect. RS shows them reversed.
Also, the MB manual wants a DIP switch (5) set to enable parity, while the RS manual says no parity.
When I try to print from the Coco, the computer hangs.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Cary
