Hi, this is stretching "first generation pentium" a bit, but there seems to be an ongoing discussion.
I have 2 PC Server 325 rackmount systems and a netfinity 5000, that just wont post. All were put into storage 5 years ago and all worked fine. Now none will do anything, not even a beep code. I have tried a cheap post code card and all i get is FFFF.
I just tried to reset the CMOS in one of the 325's by powering up the system, with the clear CMOS jumper (usually not necessary, i know) and got post code " b". This i think gives some indication that the bios can do something.
I am perplexed, they all seem to just be dead! Is there some special NVRAM in IBM's of this era? Or some other IBM specific issue?
