Is anyone here successfully doing this?
What I'd like to do is have two serial devices (computers) communicate by RS232 over my LAN. The only reason is that I already have Ethernet and two RS232 lines in every room. But being able to use the LAN instead of dedicated serial wiring would mean much more convenient routing, and not running additional lines to add more devices.
Everything I've found out there does not do what I'd like to do, which is simply have two RS232 ports connected via Ethernet. Or if they do, I'm not aware of it.
