Hi.. I already know that the contrast is 500ohm, and brightness is 500K, but can't seem to find the physical dimensions for ordering replacements from DigiKey.ca
The brightness knob is very stiff to turn, I sprayed it with contact cleaner and it worked better for a while but quickly returned to the way it was. I just got this machine yesterday, and it has a few issues.. It's also hard to get a good brightness/contrast set even when the knob was moving better, the letters seem too contrasted when I set it up so the background is dark. honestly my model 1 CRT looks better. but that could be because the VR is messed up.. or maybe a focus issue..
Also, when the background is lighter I get the diagonal lines across the screen another post was calling "raster" but my model 4 does the same thing too, I just adjust the brightness and contrast til it's gone. I kind of suspect the CRT maybe be just getting old and should be replaced eventually. I seen the video on youtube about replacing it with a green CRT.. If I did that, do I have to replace the video board by the CRT also? This is just thinking ahead what's in store for this computer....
I also have to replace the .1uf caps on the high voltage side in the power supplies and somebody put the ugly orange epoxy type in there rated 600v DC at .05uf.. but that's a simple fix, already did one since I have one left over from when I did the power supply in the model 4.
thanks in advance for any help :)
