Compaq Portable 386 VGA Card Expansion

Hi,

About a month ago I got a Compaq Portable 386 machine which works great with some cleaning. CGA games play fine on the monochrome screen.

Recently I picked up another eBay lot which contained two Portable IIIs that need repairing but more importantly to me the ISA Card Expansion Box which can plug into them and the 386.

The card has a label of Compaq Diamond with a Paradise PVGA1A Chipset and 256KB of Ram from research.

While when plugged in the computer detects it and outputs on the VGA connector when trying to launch a game VGA ones don't display and the monitor on the machine itself also glitches or CGA ones revert to the monitor built in.

I was wondering if anyone knew the process to get it working or weather any drivers are needed?

Solved!
And I just figured it out about an hour after posting. Typical.

To solve you must set the built in display to text only mode and disable CGA support on that screen. (Done by setting jumper E23 to 2&3). After that the VGA card is used for any graphics. However disables the built in screen being used for anything but DOS.
